It seems Indian local mobile vendors are fearing the trouble from the recently launched Motorola Moto E and started responding to it strongly. After Micromax introduced Unite 2 with competing specification and price, another top Indian local mobile vendor Lava has launched its Android KitKat powered Iris X1, the first smartphone from its Iris X series smartphones.

Lava Iris X1 is a budget friendly Android smartphone that runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat mobile operating system. It spots a 4.5 inch FWVGA IPS display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. Under the hood it got a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Broadcom BCM23550 processor coupled with 1GB RAM and a specialized graphics engine based on Videocore multimedia technology.

Iris X1 sports an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.4 µm pixel BSI+ sensor. On the front it got a 2 megapixel shooter for video calling and selfie. The smartphone comes with a 4GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB using microSD card. On the connectivity side Iris X1 supports dual-SIM that supports 3G and 2G networks. Apart from that it got WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0 BLE and micro-USB.

Lava has smartly priced the Iris X1 in competition with Moto E at Rs 7,999 and will be available in all leading offline and online stores. Unlike the colourful options available for Moto E and Unite 2, Lava Iris X1 will only come in black and white colours.
