Reliance Jio has introduced an auto recharge facility called JioAutoPay, which they also claim to be India’s first prepaid auto recharge. Customers can enable this feature on their website or app. Let’s see the list of payment instruments available for JioAutoPay and how to use this feature.

JioAutoPay

Prepaid customers can opt for this feature by configuring their credit card, bank or wallet. As of now, you can only choose credit card at checkout. A customer can always opt out of this feature from the self-care portal. If you have any pre-existing recharges above Rs 149 in the queue, then the autopay won’t trigger when your current plan expires.

Jio Brings Auto Recharge Facility JioAutoPay For Prepaid And Postpaid

Auto recharge will be triggered for your Jio number 5 days before a recharge is due for daily FUP mobile plans like the Rs 198, Rs 398 and Rs 509 plans. In the case of a non-FUP mobile plans like the Rs 999 to Rs 9,999 long term packs, the AutoPay will be triggered on consumption of 90 percent data under that plan. The first autopay trigger date is 10th January 2018 for already opted users, unless you have an existing or queued up plan.

  1. Go to Jio.com to set up the feature (or).
  2. Open My Jio app, select settings and then payment settings.
  3. Key-in your Jio number and accept the JioAutoPay terms.
  4. Choose a plan and authorize to use card details for standing instructions.

This auto recharge feature works exactly the same way for postpaid connections. However, the trigger will happen only during the bill payment cycle. You can set your postpaid Jio Number for JioAutoPay following the methods mentioned above.

Features & Offers

Jio is also offering up to Rs 600 cashback as a launch offer for the AutoPay feature. However, the one thing Jio states is “the benefits of the plan may differ based on the offer valid the time of recharge“. To avail other recharge offers including vouchers, the customer should recharge that amount prior to 5 days of AutoPay trigger day. Now this plan will be considered as queued plan and JioAutoPay won’t trigger itself. If a customer recharges in-between the 5 day period, then the recharge won’t be considered as queued one.
