Simple and fast enough to quickly book a train ticket (specially Tatkal ticket) that’s what many of you looking forward from the official mobile app of India’s biggest online ticketing platform Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Hearing the voice of its users, IRCTC has come up with a new mobile app called IRCTC Rail Connect.

Currently available as a beta app exclusive for android smartphones [link], IRCTC Rail Connect offers a simpler user interface to book train tickets. In addition to the FluentUI, the app also offers several advanced features for faster and easy booking of tickets.

IRCTC Rail Connect app (Beta) - Simple and Faster way to book Train tickets

IRCTC Rail Connect app is built over the next generation e-ticketing system, which is currently being used on IRCTC website. It offers advanced security features like self-assigned 4-digit PIN to login without entering username and password on each time. These makes it more convenient for users who repeatedly use the app to book train tickets. The app also allows new users to register and activate their account directly from the app.

The user interface of IRCTC Rail Connect app has been made simpler based on latest android material design. There is now fewer steps for selecting railway stations and a new option for selecting date through the calendar in train list screen. These eventually save time while booking a train ticket, especially during the Tatkal timing. The app supports booking of train tickets under Ladies, Tatkal and Premium-Tatkal quota. To speed up your Tatkal booking the app will retain passenger details of recently booked tickets. Another addition to speed up the train ticket booking is the integration with IRCTC e-wallet. You still can use other payment gateways and third party digital wallets.
