Now you can book train tickets using the wallet cash from Paytm. Following the major trend in e-commerce, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has added support for Paytm Wallet on its payment gateway.

Users booking train tickets on IRCTC can now choose the payment mode, Paytm Wallet to make the transaction. One can choose Paytm Wallet under the Cash Card/Wallet payment mode. Once selected the user will be redirected to Paytm Wallet, where they are asked to enter their Paytm login details and pay using the Paytm cash available in their wallet. Note that users need to have sufficient balance under their Paytm Wallet to make the transaction, as their won’t be an option to add money from your debit card or credit card. User will levied a transaction fee of  1.30% + service tax on every successful transaction.

IRCTC adds Paytm Wallet on its Payment Gateway

IRCTC also has its own eWallet service, where customers can deposit money under their IRCTC account and use that for booking train tickets. But the service comes with its own pros and cons. One major issue with IRCTC wallet was that, user can’t book tickets during the Tatkal hours (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and also, all deposited money to IRCTC eWallet was non-refundable. With addition of Paytm wallet to IRCTC payment gateway, users can freely book train tickets during the tatkal hours, (update – you can’t book Tatkal tickets using Paytm Wallet) as well as add and withdraw money from the wallet as they like.
