Indian broadband subscribers are growing, thanks to the India private telecom operators on their effort with promoting both wireless and wireline based broadband services. According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) report as on 31st July, 2014, India got around 70.81 million broadband subscribers at the end of July 2014 when compared to the 68.83 million subscribers at the end of June 2014.
The data include subscribers from normal wired connection, wireless subscribers using mobile devices and dongles, and other wireless connection including Wi-Fi, Wi-Max, Point-to-Point Radio and VSAT with a minimum downloading speed of 512Kbps. Govt owned telecom operator BSNL still leads the broadband raise with 25.62% market share, but closely followed by Bharti Airtel with 22.05% market share and Vodafone India with 15.86% market share.
