Idea Cellular, India’s 3rd largest telecom operator and one of the top 3G service provider has slashed up to 70% price reduction in its 3G data services for both Prepaid and Postpaid customer pan India. The reduction comes after state-owned BSNL and private operator Airtel slashed their 3G data plans recently.
Idea customer have reduced the earlier 10p/10KB 3G data tariff to 3p/10 KB which is about 70% price reduction. In addition to this 3G tariff reduction Idea has introduced new 3G pricing plans in sachet packs, regular packs and unlimited packs. The new 3G plans provides affordable Internet packs for all range of users from low usage customers to very high usage customers how look into unlimited 3G data downloads.
Idea’s new 3G sachet pack of Rs 10 will now offer 30MB of data transfer instead of older 20MB, similar all other plans 3G data usage has considerably increased. They have also unveiled HERO-25, a new sachet pack which will give prepaid customers 100 MB data with three days validity for just Rs 25. For customers looking for higher 3G data usage plans especially the home and SoHo internet users, Idea now offers 1GB of 3G data download with 30 days validity for just Rs 250. For professionals and corporate customers, Idea has unlimited plan priced at Rs 950 with 6GB 3G data usage at 21.1 Mbps and then capped to 128Kbps.
It seems slowly telecom operators are making their 3G data plans affordable for the masses. With 4G data services emerging, we can accept more price reduction in the coming months.
