India’s third largest telecom operator Idea Cellular has rolled out high-speed 4G LTE network service under its 1800 MHz spectrum in India. Launching in its telecom stronghold, 4G LTE service has been rolled out to 75 towns across five South Indian states – Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
Idea is the third telecom operator in India to launch the next generation 4G LTE service after the top two operators Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India. Idea Cellular plans to rapidly expand its 4G network in all towns and cities in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana by March 2016 and to expand to over 750 cities across 10 telecom circles by June 2016, that’s cover over 50 percent of Idea’s telecom market.
Idea customers can avail free upgrade to 4G SIM from any of the Company Showrooms and leading retail outlets across 750 towns. They can also choose 4G Prepaid and Postpaid tariff plans that are priced at par with existing 3G plans. For a start one can also try the 4G Trial Packs starting as low as Rs 29.
Prepaid or Postpaid Idea customers buying new 4G enabled smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S6, Lumia 950XL, Lenovo A600, iPhone 6S etc before 31st March 2016 are being offered special Double Data benefit on all 1 GB and above 4G packs. Customers will also get special benefits from Hungama, EROS and other leading content aggregators. For postpaid customers, Idea has launched Ultimate 4G Plans offering bundled 4G data usage, unlimited voice calls and digital content subscription powered by Hungama.
