A smaller sibling to the flagship Honor 8 android smartphone. Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched Honor 8 lite in India. Lacking the dual camera setup, the mobile still features full HD display, an octa-core processor with 4GB RAM, premium metal build quality and 4G LTE with VoLTE support.

First to the pricing, Honor 8 lite gets a price tag of Rs 17,999. The mobile will be available for purchase through all major offline retail stores across India. You can get hands on the device starting 12th May 2017.

Design and Performance

The Honor 8 lite may be a slim-down version of Honor 8, but still, it has the same premium look and feel with a ultra-narrow bezel design formed from a 2.5D glass front and back. The mobile flaunts a 5.2-inch full HD 1080P display that’s covered with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass for protection.

Honor 8 lite launched in India with 4GB RAM, 4G VoLTE

Under the hood, the Honor 8 lite is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 655 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It’s the same processor you will find in the recently launched Honor 6x. To store all your photos, videos and other content the mobile comes with 64GB of internal storage. You can further expand the storage up to 128GB using microSD card. As the mobile packs hybrid card slot, you can either have two SIM or a SIM with a microSD card.

Camera and Connectivity

For photography, the Honor 8 lite boast a 12-megapixel camera on the back. It features F2.2 wide apertures, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and several camera modes. On front for selfie lovers, we got an 8-megapixel camera featuring 77-degree wide angle lens and F2.0 wide aperture.

On the connectivity side, the Honor 8 lite comes with 4G LTE that supports every telco 4G bands in India. For making those HD voices and video calls the mobile also support 4G VoLTE. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G networks, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and NFC. For added security, the smartphone includes a 3D fingerprint sensor on the back that can unlock your mobile in 0.3 seconds. To fuel the whole device, we got a 3000mAh battery with Smart Power 5.0 system.
