Going for a festival shopping or new to a place and want to explore the whole city. Booking taxi every time to travel from one location to another is a troublesome job. Uber, one of India’s top ride-sharing services has launched UberHIRE were you can hire a Uber taxi for up to 12 hours.

Piloted in Kochi, the UberHIRE will now go live in eight more Indian cities. This includes Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Kochi, Pune, and Visakhapatnam. The service essentially allows you to have a private vehicle that can take you everywhere, can have multiple stops, and include a waiting period.

Now hire a Uber taxi for up to 12 hours with UberHIRE

Talking about fares, the UberHIRE rates varies based on the city you are in. The rates can range between Rs 449 to Rs 649 for 2 hours and up to 40 km. Thereafter you will be charged up to Rs 13 per kilometer and up to Rs 3 per minute. There is also a minimum fare, which is the lowest that you would have to pay no matter the distance or time. If you cancel the ride after five minutes of booking then you will also need to pay a cancellation charge of up to Rs 100.

How to book a UberHIRE

  • Open your Uber app and slide over to UberHIRE.
  • Set your pickup location and request your ride.
  • Your Uber taxi will be at your service. You will have the option to see driver’s details straight away, along with the details of your car.
  • At the end of the trip, your total fare is calculated based on the distance and duration of your trip. You can pay UberHIRE in cash and will receive an e-receipt. (currently, no other payment modes are accepted for UberHIRE).
How to book UberHIRE

UberHIRE city limits remain the same as it for UberGO, UberX, and UberXL. Initially, the service won’t be available 24/7 but limited to 6 AM to 10 PM based on the city you are in. You can book UberHIRE for a minimum period of 2 hours and maximum of 12 hours a day. One extra charge you may need to pay would be the toll charges. This will be collected at the end of your trip and will reflect in your final fare. One good thing is you won’t be charged extra for fuel during the whole journey.
