A small relief to all Indian mobile users (especially Prepaid users) in this festive season, you can now reach out more of your loved one’s through SMS, India Government today increased the SMS ban limit per day from the original 5 SMS to 20 SMS per day per SIM with immediate effect.

Recently only India Government banned sending bulk SMS, MMS for 15 days in the country, as a step taken after a reports of threatening SMS/MMS being sent to North Eastern students in Bangalore, Mumbai, Hydrabad, Pune and other cities. Which in effect has led to exodus of North Eastern people from certain parts of the country.

Govt Raises SMS Ban limit to 20 SMS per Day per SIM with Immediate effect

According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, ” it has been decided to revise the permissible limit of bulk SMS/MMS to 20 in place of five with immediate effect. The other conditions will remain the same”

From today onwards, most of the prepaid customers in the country can send a maximum of 20SMS per day for the rest of the ban period and also will able to send more than 25 KB of data through MMS per day.
