With over 140 million transactions from nearly 12 million active users, Google Tez is one of the fastest growing mobile payment app in India. To further boost up its adoption and increase the transactions, Google is adding bill payments option right in the app.
In the coming week, Google will roll out an update to Tez which will add the much-asked feature from its users, ‘Bill Payments’. More than 70 billers across the country will be supported, including utilities and direct-to-home service providers. You will be able to instantly pay your Electricity, DTH, Gas, Water, Broadband and Landline bills via Tez.
Adding Google’s magic to the bill payments, “once you’ve paid a bill through Google Tez, you never have to add the billing organization again“. Tez will auto-fetch the bill details from service providers and remind you when certain bills are due. You can also avoid paying the same bill twice, as the payment status will be automatically updated in the app.
