Google+ has brought lots of new features in the recent days and one of the most important feature is that you can now post on Google + through SMS. Users in the US and India can now post to Google+, receive notifications, and respond to group messages via SMS (with more countries on the way).

Share your thoughts in the Google+ stream via SMS by texting your update to 33669 (United States) or 9222222222 (India). To start using this feature you need first to verify your phone number in Google+ settings. Every sms post are shared within Your circles by default. Your circles includes everyone in your circles.

Here  some of the shortcuts you can try using it to share your posts with specific people or circles:

+[circle name] – To share with a specific circle, append your post with +[circle name]. For example: “Guys come to lella for party +college”

+extended – To share with everyone in your extended circles, append your post with +extended. For example: “Any good restaurant recommendations? +extended”

+public – To share your post publicly, append your post with +public. Public posts are viewable by anyone on the web. For example: “what should i buy for my Girlfriend? +public”.

+[email address] – To share your post with a specific person, append your post with +[email address]. For example, “In SF for the week +[email protected]” will be visible to emailaddres@gmail.com.

Note that standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Probably it will be around Rs 1 per sms for Indian users.  Do share your thought how this new feature will help you.
