Now get the right information at just the right time on both Smartphones and Desktop, as Google has integrated its famous Google Now to Chrome browser for desktop Windows and Mac. If you got an Android smartphone then you would probably know the features of Google Now, but for those who don’t it’s a personal search assistant that takes your location, search history and the time into effect to present you with information that is custom-tailored to your needs.

Google Now provide the personalized information in the form of cards and appears throughout the day at the moment you need them, all happening automatically.

Google Now lands on Desktop Chrome for Windows & Mac

To enable Google Now on your Chrome, first check if you are running the latest stable update of Chrome and then simply sign in to Chrome with the same Google Account you’re using for Google Now on Android or iOS. Once it’s enabled you can see the new Google Now notification icon under your Windows system tray or on the OS X menu bar.

Google Now on Chrome shows a subset of the Now cards one see on their Android or iOS devices, which uses the device’s location. The Cards will include information about weather, sports scores, commute traffic, and event reminders cards. Some of these cards may be based on the location of one’s mobile device like the travel time to home or office, nearby attractions etc.

Those having Google Now turned on, on multiple devices, they will need to manage their location settings for each device independently. They only see location-based Google Now Cards on their desktop for devices that have Location Reporting turned on.
