Our wait is getting over soon, as Google owned Motorola is re-entering the Indian market with the official launch of its budget friendly Moto G android smartphone on February 5th, 2014. It was announced through Motorola’s official Twitter account that’s says “Moto G launch details for India will be announced on February 5. Stay tuned!


 

Motorola is looking for an exclusive launch of Moto G through an online retail partner – most probably India’s biggest online store Flipkart. It’s still unclear whether Motorola will choose entirely online retail stores for selling its smartphone or bring the Moto G to offline brick-and-mortar stores. There has been reports that Motorola has failed to tie-up with India’s biggest distributors – Ingram Micro and Redington, mainly due to the absence of any Motorola team in India. It’s still a concern that who in India will do the after sales service for Moto G in India, as Motorola has no service centers in India.

On the specification front Moto G features a 4.5 inch 720p HD edge-to-edge display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 350 GPU with 1GB RAM, Android 4.3 Jellybean OS with guaranteed Android 4.4 KitKat update, waterproof nano coating, 5 megapixel shooter with LED flash, 8Gb and 16GB internal storage option and lots of customization options. You can read more about Moto G at our previous article on it.

Motorola is expected to launch an dual-SIM variant of the Moto G smartphone in India and to be priced at around Rs 12,000 for the 8GB model.

Earlier Google brought the Moto G to Play store as Google Play Edition Moto G, that’s running the pure 100% stock Android 4.4 KitKat mobile operating system.
