Google is now bringing more features to its products specifically designed and developed for people in India. After the launch of YouTube Go and adding over 30 Indian regional languages support, the search giant has now launched an Indian specific home screen redesign for its Google Maps mobile app.

The new update which is available right now for android devices comes with a new home screen layout, that’s designed exclusively for India users. Now when you enter the app, you will see a new shortcut at the bottom saying “Tap to see quick actions”. Doing so will bring up cards offering access to directions with different modes of transportation. From there you can instantly start planning your route to a place of your choice.

Under the direction card, you have the ‘Map Details’ card which allows you to switch the map to satellite imagery. You can also check the real-time traffic information and get more details on all available public transport lines in that area. The best part, it also includes a download option to save the area for offline use.

Even with the new home screen design, Google Maps app now loads faster even on spotty connections. The new home screen layout adds quick and convenient access to most used features of Google Map.
