Ok Google, let’s start the party. Google India is all set to launch it’s Google Home smart speakers in India. Google Home and Google Home Mini smart speakers would probably launch by 10th April 2018. That’s the exact date when Google India has planned a launch event in Delhi for this new products.

Further confirming the launch of Google Home smart speakers, Google India’s twitter handle tweeted this news. It’s also teasing the launch with #MakeGoogleDoIt hashtag, targeting directly on #JustAskAlexa, the Amazon India’s Alexa ads campaign.

The original Google Home smart speakers where launched way back at the Google I/O 2016. It’s essentially a smart speaker powered by Google Assistant, the one you could also find in most of the android smartphones. You can interact with the device, ask a question, play music, manage tasks and even control smart home products like the smart lights and plugs from brands including Philips and SYSKA.

Google Home Mini one the other hand is the smaller variant of Google Home. Just like, Amazon Echo Dot is for Amazon Echo. It’s also powered by Google Assistant and do various tasks. It can project 360-degree sound, which is crisp and can also be paired with a bigger speaker via Chromecast or Bluetooth support.

Currently, there is no information about how much Google will charge for the smart speakers India. In the US, the Google Home is priced at $129, which roughly translated to around Rs 8400. Whereas, the Google Home Mini has been retailing for $49 or approximately Rs 3200. However, we could expect a price that will compete directly with Amazon Echo devices.

The launch of Google Home smart speakers comes just a few months after Amazon India gone full-fledged in the Indian market and launched its range of Echo smart speakers. This includes Amazon Echo, Echo Dot and Echo Plus.
