Banging on the TV media streaming business, Flipkart has launched its own Android-based media streaming device – Nokia Media Streamer. For those who may have got confused by the ‘Nokia’ name here, Flipkart is a licensee of the Nokia brand in India that also include Nokia branded smart televisions.

Back to Nokia Media Streamer, its an Android 9 OS based media streamer which supports full HD video streaming and packs Google Play store. It’s way similar to other devices like Mi TV Stick, Mi Box and the Amazon Fire TV Stick.

Flipkart has priced the Nokia Media Streamer at Rs 3,499. It will be available exclusively with them only and the first sale will commence on August 28.

As you already know, the media streaming device runs on Android 9 OS and comes bundled with Google Play store. Thus you could download millions of app inlacing Netflix, Amazon Prime Videos, Disney +Hotstar, YouTube, ZEE5 and other.

The Nokia Media Streamer comes with dual-band WiFi support for 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz and packs multi I/O antenna which offers better reception and minimizes signal interruption. You connect the streaming device to the TV via HDMI. It comes with Dolby Digital Audio which offers a rich and immersive audio experience. It also comes with built-in Chromecast which allows you to cast videos and photos from your mobile, laptop or other devices directly onto the big screen.

There is also a bundled voice-controlled remote with Google Assistant support. Thus you could speak out and Google Assistant would curate movies, TV shows or videos of your choice. The remote also has two dedicated buttons to quick access to Netflix and ZEE5 OTT apps.
