Looking to get a hold on your Rs 251 worth smartphone? The makers of world’s cheapest smartphone Freedom 251 is in trouble again.

In a recent development, India’s ruling party BJP’s MP, Kirit Somaiya from Mumbai North-East region has lodged an FIR with Noida Police against Ringing Bells the so-called makers of world’s cheapest android smartphone Freedom 251.

According to IBNLive, the FIR was filed at Noida Phase 3 police station against Ringing Bills top promoter Mohit Goel and president Ashok Chaddha.

In his complaint MP had alleged that its a ‘Ponzi bogus company scam‘ and raised money by misguiding the public via social media and using misleading ads using words such as Make in India, Digital India and Skill India.

Still the promoters of the company seem to be little concerned over the FIR, Mohit Goel, director of Ringing Bells Pvt. Ltd said in India today that “We remain committed to cooperate with any government agency that may require inquiring our organisation for any reason or suspicion. I do maintain that we will deliver the most affordable quality products to our customers through our various range of smartphones including the Freedom 251.

Recently the company came under Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation which quoted saying the whole company to be potential ponzi scam. ED has written to CCAveneue asking not to release the money to Ringing Bells, but to refund all the money back to customers.
