Call Phones from Gmail at Lower Rates and Now Supports 38 Languages

Now you can make International calls at a very low rate from  Google’s Gmail phone calling feature. Google have reduced the cost of international phone calls making it more affordable and also making the call feature available in 38 languages, thus helping lots more users to use the service.

Google in a blog post yesterday announced this reduced call rates and support for 38 more languages. The service is powered by Google Voice and this service is accepted to rolling out across the world within few days. You will see a Green Phone icon in your Gmail chat list when the feature is available in your country. You can now buy calling credit in your choice of four currencies (Euros, British pounds, Canadian dollars or U.S. dollars) and there are no connection fees, so you only pay for the time you talk.

 Google product manager Pierre Lebeau reviled more information in the blog post that – ” To help reduce the cost of staying connected, we’re also lowering our calling rates to over 150 destinations around the world. For example, it’s now only $0.10 (or €0.08) per minute to call mobile phones in the U.K., France or Germany (landlines are $0.02/min), $0.15/minute to call mobile phones in Mexico and $0.02/min to call any phone number in China and India. So, now you can call any Indian Mobile/Landline Phone numbers fro just $0.02/minutes ( that’s just around 85paise/minute ),  very similar to what most of our Telecom operators offer in India.
