Fine tuning or fine looting, the government owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has yet again revised its 3G data STV packs for pan-India prepaid customers.
The new revision from BSNL affects some of the most popular 3G or 2G data STVs such as Data STV 57, Data STV 68, Data STV 155 and Data STV 451. Lower plan 3G data STVs affected with reduced validity and those 3G data packs with free talk-time got the voice minutes reduced.
One of the most popular 3G data STV 57 now comes with 250 MB of free bundled 3G data usage with a reduced validity of 21 days. Similarly data STV 68 which earlier offered 1GB of bundles 3G/2G data usage with two-day validity got cut down to one-day validity.
The one 3G data plan that got an increase in validity is the data STV 292 which got the validity increased to 30 days but got the bundled free 3G data usage reduced to 2GB from 2.2GB.

BSNL has also introduced a new data STV for Rs 239 that offers 1.2GB of 3G bundled data usage with a validity of 30 days. This plan is currently only valid for customers in South Zone.
In addition, BSNL will now on calculate the validity of data STVs up to 23:59 hours of last day of validity irrespective of validity on the first day.
All this 3G or 2G data STVs revision from BSNL will come into effect pan India from 20th April 2016. So next time you do a BSNL 3G or 2G data recharge, please check the plans, as there are lots and lots of changes happening.
