BSNL Launches Three Low Cost T-Pad Android Tablets Starting from Rs 3,250

It’s the right time for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), India’s Govt owned telecom provider, as tablet sales in India is rising high. To capture the high growth tablet market BSNL has launched three new Android powered tablets, BSNL Penta Tpad IS7O1R, BSNL Penta Tpad WS704C and BSNL Penta Tpad WS802C in Indian market. BSNL has partnered with Noida based consumer electronics manufacturer Pantel, to build this tablets.This tablets comes with BSNL special 2G/3G data plans.

“Pantel Technologies has entered into a strategic alliance with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), to jointly address the data consumption & ICT needs of Indian consumers by launching a range of Internet Tablets, named “Penta TPAD’s” bundled with the data services of BSNL-3G” said company in a statement.

The cheapest of the three tablets launched BSNL Penta Tpad IS7O1R, is priced at Rs 3,250, which will surely make Aakash run for its money. Also its hardware spec is much better than Aakash tablet. Tpad IS7O1R features 7 inch resistive touch screen powered by 1 GHz processor with DDRII 256MB RAM which provides the best performance in the entry-level category. Other tablet specification includes –

  • IMAP210 1GHz processor with DDRII 256MB RAM
  • 7 inch resistive touch screen 16:9, 800×600
  • OS supports  Android 2.3
  • 0.3MP front facing camera
  • 2GB Internal memory can be expanded upto 32GB using the onboard TF Card slot
  • Built-in G-sensor for Rotator screen, 3D games
  • Internet connectivity using Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
  • Integrated HDMI port for connection with LCD/LED TV.
  • Battery – Li-ion 3000mah 5V2A

The second tablet announced is the BSNL Penta T-Pad WS704C, which is priced at Rs 10,999. It features 7″7″ Capacitive Multi Touch Screen powered by 1GHz processor and 512MB DDRIII RAM. It has inbuilt 3G SIM slots, which can be used with BSNL 3G connection for high-speed 3G internet connectivity. Other main features include –

  • 1GHz processor with DDRII 512MB RAM
  • 7″7″ Capacitive Multi Touch Screen 800 x 600
  • OS supports  Android 2.3 (upgradable to Android 4.0)
  • 3G Connectivity – Built-in CDMA/EVDO+GSM
  • Internet connectivity using Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
  • 0.3MP front facing camera and 2.0 Mp Rear camera
  • 4GB Internal memory and External memory expandable upto 32GB using microSD card slot
  • Built in GPS, Accelerometer, G-sensor and Bluetooth
  • Can play 1080p HD video on HDTV via HDM
  • 3.5mm stereo phone jack
  • Battery – Polymer 4000mAH

The costliest and feature rich amongst the three tablet’s is the BSNL Penta T-Pad WS802C, which is priced at Rs 13,500. This tablet comes in direct competition with other brands tablets like Reliance 3G tablet, Samsung Galaxy tab, Blackberry playbook and more. T-Pad WS802C features 8″ Capacitive Multi Touch Screen powered by 1.2 GHz processor and 512MB DDRIII RAM runs of Android 2.3 OS, but can also be upgraded to latest Android 4.0. The Penta TPAD has 4GB of built-in internal memory and features a microSD card slot for upgrading the capacity to up to 32GB. It comes equipped with a built-in front-facing and back facing cameras for video calling. All other features similar to the BSNL Penta T-Pad WS704C, other main features include –
