Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), India Govt owned telecom provide, has announced a new service for CDMA postpaid customers, now they have the option to check the current data usage of their service through SMS. The service has been currently introduced in the southern telecom circles Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa.
For checking the data usage from BSNL Mobile send an SMS as AMT <space> your MDN number to 53733 and for checking from other operator Mobile send SMS as AMT <space> MDN number to 94422 53733. The MDN number is either FWT or RUIM MDN found on your CDMA connection. Customers will get the current month data usage of their CDMA/ EVDO service. The usage details are not updated on real time basis, it will only displaying usage value of the Data customer from the previous day. For RUIM customers it is necessary to input only MDN not MIN.
