In a hurry to get to work or meeting a friend and want to compare your options for cabs services, to find the fastest way cabs nearby and mainly the fares. Then just Google it!
Earlier when your search for direction on Google Maps, it will show a dedicated tab with information about the available transit options. Google India has brought the same ride information to its Google search on mobile and Google Search app for android and iOS devices.
Now, when you search on Google for direction to a place and on the search result you will find a Google Map snippet along with available cab service in your area. Currently, ride services from Ola and Uber are shown on the search result.
The search result will also show the fare estimates and approximate pick up time if a car is available near you. This allows you to easily compare the fares, pick up time and availability between Ola and Uber ride services.
In addition to the simple direction query on Google search, you can also search for instance “Taxi to Delhi airport” or “Uber to Bangalore airport” etc. This will pop up the results with respective ride service information.
Once you have decided with cab service to select, you will be taken to the respective apps to book the ride. If you have not installed the apps on your mobile, then clicking on the search result will open up the Google Play store or iTunes Store to download the apps.
