Those bulky DSLR’s, smaller limited function point-and-shoot cameras are thing of past. If you are on to mobile photography then you must look into the newest smartphone from Asus on its ZenFone 3 range. Those who have missed Asus already have a big list of ZenFone 3 smartphone like ZenFone 3, Zenfone 3 Ultra, Zenfone 3 Deluxe, ZenFone 3 Max and more.
Asus during the ‘Zennovation’ press conference at CES 2017 in Las Vegas has launched a new member to its already lengthy ZenFone 3 series, the all new ZenFone 3 Zoom. The trend which started with Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus dual-camera setup, the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom also packs a dual-camera at the back. It features a dual 12-megapixel camera, one with a f/1.7-aperture, 25mm wide-angle lens packing ASUS SuperPixel technology and the second with a 59mm lens. The best part here is that you can instantly switch between the dual cameras that enabled an impressive depth-of-field effect for portraits. These rear camera pack TriTech+ autofocus system that automatically chooses between Dual Pixel PDAF, subject tracking autofocus, and second-generation laser focus, depending on the situation. The back camera also got both optical and electronic image stabilization (OIS and EIS) technologies for capturing blue-free image and videos.
The back two cameras have Sony IMX362 sensors with 1.4-micron pixels offering better low-light photography. It has a true 2.3x optical zoom for close-up photos and 12x total zoom for distance captures. On to the front, ZenFone 3 Zoom packs a 13-megapixel camera. It features Sony IMX214 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, unique beautification and 140degree Selfie Panorama modes. It also comes with screen flash if you are looking to put some light on your face.
For both back and front camera, ZenFone 3 Zoom offers a Manual mode that allows you to control almost everything on the camera side. These include control over shutter speed, white balance, EV, ISO and metering, RAW photo format and switch between the dual lenses for either 25mm or 59mm focal length.
