Tango-enabled and Daydream-ready phone
The Asus Zenfone AR features Tango from Google that seamlessly blends augmented reality (AR) with virtual reality using motion sensing, depth sensing, and area learning capabilities. For this, the mobile is equipped with a TriCam system consisting of three rear cameras – a motion tracking, depth sensing, and 23-megapixel camera. This allows the mobile to create a three-dimensional augmented reality world out of your surroundings, all in the real-time. The motion tracking camera then tracks its location as it moves through space. The depth sensing camera with an infrared (IR) projector measures its distance from real-world objects. Finally, the 23-megapixel camera lets you view virtual objects in your actual environment in super high-quality. The best example would be the popular Pokémon GO game that uses AR to show the Pokémons around your surrounding.
Next big feature the Asus Zenfone AR packs is the Google Daydream support, which brings high-quality VR experiences. With the WQHD Super AMOLED display, powerful processor and high-fidelity sensor you can experience VR like never before. However, you need a VR headset and controller like the Google Daydream VR headset to actually experience VR in its full beauty.
