Update – Apple has officially listed the Apple TV on its website, with a price tag of Rs 8295, that’s double of what Apple list on US ($99).

After the much awaited Apple iTunes Store launch in India on late December 2012, Apple is preparing to launch Apple TV in India, taking the home entertainment to the next level. The product page is now live on Apple India’s website with full details on Apple TV. The product seems to be fully customized to Indian community, showcasing images of Bollywood super hit films Ek Tha Tiger and Veer Zaara on the banner image.

Apple TV basically a digital media receiver that brings a host of contents from iTunes Stores to your television. With the launch of iTunes Stores in India, Apple has brought local and international collection of Movies and Music. Customers can purchase Movies or rent out Movies using iTunes. Apple TV gives access to everything you want to see and hear from blockbuster films, music and photos, even news and sport all on your widescreen TV. HD films purchased from iTunes play over the Internet on your HDTV, and music and photos stream from your computer.

Movies are priced between Rs 190 to Rs 50o if you looking to buy one, instead you can rent the movies at a much lower price starting from Rs 80. iTunes Store got great collection of movies from major studios including 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, The Walt Disney Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures, as well as leading local distributors.

Apple TV launching in India

Apple TV allow users to connect their iOS devices like iPhone, iPad or iPod to their television wirelessly using AirPlay and AirPlay Mirroring. It also play digital contents from online sources like YouTube, Flickr, iCloud, Vimeo and over WiFi. Setting up Apple TV is easy you just need to plug the power lead into the wall and connect Apple TV to your widescreen TV using an HDMI cable. Since everything streams wirelessly to Apple TV using your Wi-Fi network, that’s all you need.

Its excepted that Apple will launch Apple TV in the coming weeks and to be priced around Rs 6000.
