That’s relatively lots of announcements from world’s biggest tech company Apple. During an event held in San Francisco Apple has unveiled a series new products, software updates and upgraded hardware line. First in line was the public launch of desktop operating system OS X Mavericks, which is available for free from the Mac App Store. Next the upgraded MacBook Pro with retina display in new 13 inch and 15 inch screen size. Apple has upgraded and renamed the next-generation iPad to iPad Air which becomes the thinnest and lightest iPad ever. Apple iPad mini also got upgraded with retina display and bumped hardware. The cylinder styled Mac Pro get’s the official public launch and available in December with a price tag of $2,999 (INR 2.2lakh).

OS X 10.9 Mavericks – most advanced desktop os

Apple has announced the public launch of its desktop operating system OS X Mavericks which is available for free from the Mac App Store. OS X Mavericks comes with more than 200 new features along with new iBooks and Maps to the Mac. It also includes a new advanced version of Safari, enhances multi-display support, Finder Tabs and Tags and delivers new core technologies for better power efficiency and performance.

Timer Coalescing and App Nap intelligently save energy and reduce power consumption. Compressed Memory automatically shrinks inactive data to keep the Mac running fast and responsive. In addition the new OS X delivers significant performance enhancements for systems with integrated graphics through optimized OpenCL support and dynamic video memory allocation.

  • Finder Tabs – help you to merge or consolidate multiple windows into one window, removing the clutter from your desktop. Users can navigate between tabs, customize views, move a file from one tab to another and reorder them however they want.
  • Tagging – a simple and yet powerful way to organize and find your files. Its remind us about the WordPress blog tagging functionality, user can tag files with a keyword, like shopping. Then when you want to find those files in local storage or iCloud, just click shopping in the Finder sidebar or enter it in the search field.
  • Multiple Display – Better support for every display connected to your Mac, bring in menu bar and Dock to the display you’re working on. User can have multiple app windows running on either display. Mission Control has been updated and with updated Airplay can support Apple TV box for an extra display.
  • Safari Browser – Gets a performance boosts and innovative new feature. It has a new sidebar with shared links which shows links posted by people you follow on Twitter and LinkedIn, and a Reading List.
  • a streamlined Calendar that estimates travel time between appointments, and provides a map with weather forecast.
  • iCloud Keychain app –  that can remember your account names, passwords, and credit card numbers.
  • Notifications – with revamped notification app, user can reply to a message directly from notification, can respond to FaceTime video call, or delete an email right from a notification.
  • iBooks – which gives you instant access to your iBooks library, more than two million titles in the iBooks Store, and works seamlessly across Apple devices.

Upgraded MacBook Pro with Retina Display

Apple has significantly upgraded it MacBook Pro with Retina display line with fourth generation Intel Core processors, the latest graphics, longer battery life, faster flash storage and next generation Wi-Fi. The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display features fourth generation dual-core Intel Core i5 processors up to 2.6 GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.1 GHz or can be configured with dual-core Intel Core i7 processors up to 2.8 GHz and Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.3 GHz . With the integrated Intel Iris graphics, it delivers up to 90 percent faster performance than older generation. In regards of pricing it starts at $1,299 (aprox INR 80,000) for  2.4GHz dual-core i5, 4GB RAM, 128GB flash storage variant.

MacBook Pro with Retina Display

The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display features fourth generation quad-core Intel Core i7 processors up to 2.3 GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.5 GHz or a faster quad-core Intel Core i7 processors up to 2.6 GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.8 GHz. The GPU option include the Intel Iris Pro graphics or the GeForce GT 750M with 2GB of video memory. In regards of pricing it starts at $1,999 (aprox INR 122,000) for 2.0 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of memory, 256GB of flash storage and Intel Iris Pro graphics.

Both MacBook Pro features PCIe-based flash storage, next generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi, dual Thunderbolt 2 ports and a HDMI port. In addition the MacBook Pro packs with iLife, iWork productivity apps that have been completely redesigned to take full advantage of OS X Mavericks, updated to 64-bit, are integrated with iCloud.

Mac Pro – Powerful Hardware

Mac Pro the powerful desktop pc which was unveiled months back at WWDC event gets an official public launch this December. It features a cylinder like design, powered by the next-generation Intel Xeon processors with up to 12 core, dual GPUs featuring AMD FirePro workstation-class GPU with up to 6GB of dedicated VRAM, PCI Express-based flash storage, high-performance Thunderbolt 2ultra-fast memory with four-channel DDR3 memory controller running at 1866MHz, and support for 4K video.

Apple Cylinder Styled Mac Pro

The new Mac Pro features 4-core, 6-core, 8-core or 12-core Intel Xeon processors running at Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz. On the GPu side it run two workstation-class AMD FirePro GPUs with up to 12GB of video memory. OpenGL and OpenCL are optimized in OS X Mavericks to leverage the full computing power of the Mac Pro CPU and dual GPUs. It also features PCIe-based flash storage,  ECC DDR3 running at 1866 MHz with a four-channel memory controller, six Thunderbolt 2 ports, USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 1.4 ports, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Mac pro comes packed with professional software’s including Final Cut Pro X, Logic Pro X and Aperture. The pricing starting at $2,999 (INR 229,900 aprox.) for 3.7 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon E5 processor, dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs with 2GB of VRAM each, 12GB of memory, and 256GB of PCIe-based flash storage.

Thinner, Thinnest iPad Air and upgrade iPad Mini with Retina display

With just 7.5mm thin and 43 percent narrower bezel Apple unveiled the next generation iPad the new iPad Air, which is also 20 percent thinner and 28 percent lighter than the fourth generation iPad. It features a stunning 9.7-inch retina display, powered with the same A7 chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture which was recently announced with Apple iPhone 5s and supports advanced graphics and improved image signal processing. It also feature the M7 motion coprocessor that gathers data from the accelerometer, gyroscope and compass to offload work from the A7 for improved power efficiency. On the other hand iPad mini gets Retina display that bringing all the pixels from the 9.7-inch iPad to its 7.9-inch screen (2048×1536 resolution) and packs the same hardware as of iPad Air.

Both new iPads features next generation FaceTime HD camera with improved backside illumination sensors, the iSight camera comes with 5MP sensor and advanced optics, two antennas to support Multiple-In-Multiple-Out (MIMO) technology and expanded LTE coverage. In addition both runs on the latest completely overhauled iOS 7 that has a new user interface, completely redesigned with an elegant color palette, distinct, functional layers and subtle motion. It also include the all new Control Center, Notification Center, improved Multitasking, AirDrop, enhanced Photos, Safari, Siri and introduces iTunes Radio, a free Internet radio service based on the music you listen to on iTunes.

The iPad Air will be available November 1, 2013 onwards in select countries starting with a price tag starting at $499 (INR 30,000 aprox.) for the 16GB+WiFi model and $629 ( INR 38,700 aprox) for the 16GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model. Older iPad 2 gets a price cut to $399 (INR 25,000 aprox) for the 16GB Wi-Fi model and $529 (INR 32,500 aprox) for the 16GB Wi-Fi + 3G mode.

The new iPad Mini with retina display will be available later in November with a price tag starting at $399 (INR 25,000 aprox) for the 16GB+WiFi model and $529 (INR 33,000 aprox) for the 16GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model. The original iPad min gets a price cut to $299 (INR 19,000 aprox) for the 16GB Wi-Fi model and $429 (INR 27,000 aprox) for the 16GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model.
