Straight from Google with its recommended hardware and stock Android, Indian mobile vendor Karbonn has launched – Sparkle V, one of the three Android One smartphones launched today. It features pure Android experience along with quad-core processor, dual-SIM option, free Google Drive cloud storage and more under an affordable price tag of Rs 6399. The smartphone will be available exclusively through Indian online retailer Snapdeal.

For those who have missed, Google has started the Android One initiative in India where they will help the mobile vendors to build affordable smartphones with standardized hardware and stock Android (AOSP). That means Google will recommend the hardware to be used to build the smartphone and also include stock Android OS with update directly coming from them.

Karbonn launches SPARKLE V Android One smartphone for Rs 6399

Karbonn SPARKLE V spots a 4.5 inch FWVGA IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 854 x 480 Pixel. The smartphone is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad Core Mediatek processor coupled with 1GB RAM. It got a 5 megapixel camera on the back with support for full HD video recording and on the front it got a 2 megapixel camera. It carries 4GB internal storage that can be further expanded using microSD card. In addition Google will be providing free 35GB cloud storage under Google Drive.

On the connectivity side the Karbonn SPARKLE V got dual-SIM capability with support for 3G and 2G networks, along with WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. On the software side the smartphone runs on pure stock version of latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system which will be soon upgraded to Android L directly from Google.

Google has partnered with India’s top telecom operator Airtel to come up with special 3G/2G data pack. Users buying Android One smartphones will get OTA updates with no extra data charges and free 200 MB per months data usage for downloading apps from Google Play for the first six months.
