Just a few days ago only Amazon launched the Indian marketplace where it started selling printed Books, Movies and TV shows. Today the online retail giant brings its most popular products to India, the full range of Kindle devices which include Kindle Fire HD 8.9inch, Kindle Fire HD 7inch, Kindle Paperwhite 3G, Kindle Paperwhite and the original Kindle. Along with the devices it has also opened the Kindle e-bookstore in India with an introductory offers.

Amazon Kindle Devices

Kindle devices are made for pushing Amazon shopping, like the built-in Amazon App store, Kindle eBook store and the main Amazon.in online retail site. The Kindle Fire family comes in 7 inch that has HD (720p) display and 8.9 inch that has full HD (1080p) display, which uses In-Plane Switching (IPS) along with  advanced polarising filter. Both tablets carries a Dual-core processor, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Audio, Dual-band dual-antenna Wi-Fi (MIMO) for faster streaming and fewer dropped connections, and available with 16 GB or 32 GB of on device storage. It also got a front facing camera and company guarantees an exceptional battery life of over 10 hours.

Amazon Kindle Devices

 Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inch model is been priced at Rs 21,999, where-as Kindle Fire HD (7inch model) is been priced at Rs 15,999 and will be available from June 27, 2013.

Along the Kindle fire family, Amazon also brought the original  Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite (WiFi and 3G). The fifth generation Kindle, the smallest and lightest Kindle ever, which weighs just 170 grams is available at a price of Rs 5,999. It also spots a 6 inch electronic ink display which makes reading books much comfortable. While the Kindle Paperwhite spots a 6 inch backlit LCD display and available in both Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + 3G models. It’s been priced at Rs 13,999 for Kindle Paperwhite Wi-Fi + 3G model  and Rs 10,999 for Kindle Paperwhite Wi-Fi only model.

Interestingly Kindle Paperwhite Wi-Fi + 3G model model comes with a free 3G connection, where Amazon will be paying for the 3G connection, so customers pay no monthly fees and sign no annual contracts. Currently details are scarce on which telecom operator, Amazon has partnered with to offer free 3G.

Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle is available for purchase at Amazon.in and also with hundreds retail outlets across Indian including Croma, Reliance Digital, E-Zone and Vijay Sales stores.

With the Kindle devices launch Amazon has also opened up its Kindle e-bookstore in India, offering the largest selection of around 1.7 million books, including the most bestsellers, and with Indian pricing. As a promotional offer for next two weeks, Amazon India will be offering customers in India to download one best-selling Kindle Book each day for free.

Earlier before the launch of Amazon marketplace in India, they offered Kindle devices through Croma retail store and added Indian pricing to the Kindle Store for easy purchase. It was just a start and now Amazon is slowly bringing in more products to its catalogue.
