With more people leaning towards on-demand video contents Smart TVs and TV Sticks play a vital role. Amazon already has a mega-successful product in the form of Fire TV stick and Echo devices. Adding to that mix, Amazon’s in-house electronics appliances brand ‘AmazonBasics’ has launched Fire TV Edition Smart TVs in India.

AmazonBasics has launched two Fire TV Edition Smart TVs in India with 50-inch and 55-inch screen sizes. Both featuring 4K Ultra HD resolution along with HDR 10 + HLG and Dolby vision. As you can guess from the name these Smart TVs run on Fire OS which is a sort of stripped-down version of Android with no Google dependencies in it. To be clear, it’s the same OS that runs on your Fire TV stick.

Thus instead of Google Play store, you get the Fire OS Store with almost 5000+ apps. It includes all the popular apps you know like Prime Video, Netflix, Disney + Hotstar, YouTube etc. Similarly, instead of Google Assistant, you see on Android TV, here we have the built-in Alexa and Alexa voice controls. In a nutshell, the Smart TV houses a Fire TV stick hardware in it (but better spec one).
