Feeling the heat of low 3G download or browsing speed or low voice quality? India’s top telecom operator Bharti Airtel has come out with a solution for the spectrum crunch issue – Platinum 3G. A premium service for its customers that offers better 3G voice and data.

Airtel has earlier won technologically neutral spectrum in the 900MHz band in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata telecom circle last year. The spectrum as it is technologically neutral, can be used for 4G LTE, 3G or 2G voice and data services. Airtel has decided to use this spectrum for its 3G voice and data service which will go along with the current 2100MHz spectrum it owns. This will ensure to release the conjunction and spectrum crunch the customers are currently facing in the existing 2100MHz spectrum. With the higher frequency 900 MHz band, the operator is looking towards expanding its coverage and provide lesser noise or seamless user experience to subscribers.

Airtel upgrades its 3G Network to Offer Premium Platinum 3G Service

With this new addition of Platinum 3G, customers can get 34 percent faster speed on 3G, better indoor coverage by 30 percent, 25 percent faster video streaming and in effect due to all this 16% longer battery life for your smartphone. With more spectrum availability on 3G network, voice and video calls will be more clearer.

Airtel is currently rolling out Platinum 3G to its customers in Mumbai telecom circle and customers need not pay in extra for using this service. This addition will be a boom for India’s highest internet using telecom circle with around 16.4 million internet users.
