Full-fledged Tweets coming to your living room, DTH arm of India’s top telecom operator Bharti Airtel – the Airtel Digital TV announced the integration with Twitter, to display live Tweets on television. So now you can tweet or know what’s the world is tweeting about popular TV programs, celebrities, sports personalities, etc. on the TV screen itself.

Bharti Airtel has partnered with BrizzTV Media Labs Pvt Ltd to offer one of the innovative services for DTH customers in India. Through this partnership Airtel Digital TV customers can tweet about their favorite TV shows, celebrities, sports, personalities or any ongoing TV program across channels while watching it. To make things interesting this tweets will get broadcasted live real-time on TV and they would be reading their tweets on the TV screen along with the tweets of their favorite celebrities and other Airtel Digital TV customers.

Airtel Digital TV gets integrated with Twitter - now Live Tweets On TV

The live Tweets services is available to all Airtel Digital TV on any set-top-box at no additional cost. To activate and use the service customers just need to press the green key on their Airtel Digital TV remote. Customers can send their tweets on any TV show with the specific hash-tags prompted on their TV screen and it shall be broadcasted live by Airtel Digital TV. If due to any reason you are not interested with the service then you can easily close the Tweet window or resume back at any given time by pressing the same green key on their Airtel Digital TV remote again.

The service can be accesed and experienced by customers who either have no access to internet or are not active on Twitter on their TV screen. Initially, the service will be available on selected TV channels and will be extended to others in succession.

Earlier this year Airtel Digital TV introduced a Pay Per View (PPV) platform for its customers called ‘Freemium PPV’, which enabled them to view latest Indian movies at pre-scheduled timings on its PPV platform for free. The freemium PPV was available on the channel 155 and subscribers can enjoy the free movie screened on 3/4 of the total screen area, allowing space for L-shaped advertisements on the remaining 1/4th space.
