Got one of your parcels or letter missing while on transit with India Post. You can raise complaints or grievances against India Post by just calling the toll free number – 1924.

As part of the India government’s digital India initiative, the Ministry of Communications launched India Post Help Centre and a toll-free number1924. Through this toll-free number, you can register your complaints or grievances related to Department of Posts.

India Post Help Centre currently available in three Indian languages – Hindi, English, and Malayalam, which will then gradually support all regional languages. The toll-free number will be operational initially for 12 hours on working days between 8 AM to 8 PM. In every postal circle, a nodal officer will be appointed to handle public complaints.

Now call toll free number ‘1924’ to raise complaints against India Post

So, how the whole India Post Help Centre works? When you call the toll-free number 1924 and raise a complaint, it will be registered in Computerized Customer Centre (CCC) Portal by the operators at the Dak Bhawan. You will be then provided with an eleven digits ticket number for the complaint.

As soon as the complaint is registered on CCC portal, the concerned post office will be informed and they are asked to take immediate necessary action to resolve the issue. All the Postal circles will have a Control Room for monitoring and redressal of complaints. Once the issue been resolved the status is updated back to the CCC portal.

Government guarantees all complaints related to postal services, except in the case of policy decisions will be addressed within 24 hours.

The move comes in the wake of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance And Timely Implementation) review meetings, where he exhorts the Union Ministers to actively address the grievances of the common man by setting up and strengthening Public Redressal Grievances Mechanism.” said Shri Manoj Sinha, Minister of Communications.

Earlier the Ministry of Communications in partnership with Twitter India launched Twitter Seva. Where you can tweet complaints and concerns about telecom and postal sectors. According to the Minister, on an average 100 complaints are received daily related to postal services.
