Well, within six months to the launch of third flagship killer from OnePlus, we got a new phone with a small bump in the hardware. It now got the fastest processor, coolest selfie camera, bigger battery, more storage option and 4G LTE with VoLTE support.

OnePlus has officially launched the midway upgrade to its flagship killer OnePlus 3, which now called OnePlus 3T. On a quick glance, the smartphone features Snapdragon 821, 128GB storage option, 16MP rear & 16MP selfie front-facing camera, Type-C port and Dash charging support.

Is it worth the upgrade? The OnePlus 3T comes with a higher price tag of 439 euros or around Rs 32,000 for the 64GB storage variant. For bigger 128GB storage variant the price will go up to 479 euros or around Rs 35,000. The mobile will be available exclusively via Amazon India and may be through its own OnePlus store in India.

What’s changed in OnePlus 3T?

Back to the full design and hardware specifications. The OnePlus 3T got the exact design and metal unibody build as of OnePlus 3. The phone is thin with 7.35 mm thickness and weighs around at 158g. There is a new colour option for the mobile, Gunmetal in addition to the soft gold colour.

OnePlus 3T still flaunts 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED full HD display that comes with a pixel density of 401 ppi and protected with Gorilla Glass 4. The screen offers more vivid and natural viewing experience along with its deep blacks, bright whites, and accurate colour reproduction.

The OnePlus 3T comes upgraded with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor overclocked at dual 2.35 GHz and dual 1.6 GHz speeds. For seamless multitasking and intense gaming, the processor comes coupled with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and Adreno 530 graphic processing unit. For storage, the smartphone comes in 64GB and 12GB internal storage variants based on UFS 2.0 technology.

Coming to the photography side, the OnePlus 3T keeps the same 16-megapixel back camera on the back. It carries the Sony IMX 298 sensor along with electronic (EIS) and optical (OIS) stabilisation for both photos and videos. It also supports PDAF, also you can fine tune the exposure, ISO, focus and more just like in a DSLR. On the front for selfie lovers, there is a major bump in the camera module. The mobile comes with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with Samsung 3P8SP sensor and aperture of f/2.0 and PDAF.

Connectivity wise OnePlus 3T comes with a dual nano SIM card slot that supports 4G LTE (supporting every Indian 4G bands 3, 5, 40, 4, 41) and VoLTE for HD voice calling. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G networks support along with WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and USB Type-C port. The smartphone also got a fingerprint sensor placed around the home button on the front. For audiophiles the mobile packs Dirac HD Sound that enhances and optimises audio output.

Powering all this, OnePlus 3T packs a 3,400 mAh battery that comes with Dash Charger. So on a quick 30 minutes charge, you can replenish over 60 percent of the phones battery.  The smartphone runs on android Marshmallow OS with OnePlus’s Oxygen skin over the top. According to the company, the OS will be soon upgraded to android Nougat. If you can’t wait much, Cyanogen team has already rolled put the CM14 Nougat ROM for OnePlus 3 and soon expected for OnePlus 3T.
