Innovative in its own space, Notion Ink has come up with Cain – a 2-in-1 Windows based ultrabook that can also transform easily to a compact Windows tablet. A simple merge of laptop and tablet with help of its unique cover that works both as a keyboard and a stand. One can place the tablet on the stand and connect the magnetic keyboard, voila it has become a full-fledged laptop.
Coming on to the hardware side Notion Ink Cain spots a 10.1 inch IPS LCD HD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and 10-point capacitive touch screen. It got a powerful 1.83 Ghz Intel Baytrail quad-core Z3735D processor that’s coupled with 2GB DDR3 RAM which offers high-level performance, faster speed and consumes less power than a tablet. On the graphics side the ultra book comes with integrated Intel HD Graphics. It runs on the full-fledged Windows 8.1 desktop operating system that’s optimised for both laptop and tablet. Another major point is that you can run all sorts of Windows software on it like Microsoft Office, Photoshop etc and can be used then in both modes.
Notion Ink Cain got 32GB internal storage and can be easily expanded up to another 32GB using microSD card or one can even use portable external hard disks or pen drives, thanks to its USB 3.0 port. Other than this the Cain also got Micro USB High Speed OTG, Mini HDMI and 3.5mm headphone jack ports. On the connectivity side the ultrabook support WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 along with ultra stick 3G slot for 3G network. With all this hardware Notion Ink Cain can last up to 10 hours on surfing or 7 hours on video playback with one charge of its 7900 mAh Lithium Polymer battery.
