Google Rebrands Android market to Google Play

Say goodbye to Google Android market, Google has just rebranded its Android Market to Google Play, a digital entertainment destination where users can find, enjoy and share there favorite music, movies, books and apps on the web and on there Android phone or tablet. Google now integrating its cloud based offering, so all your music, movies, books and apps are stored online on the clouds, always available on any device at any time, and users never have to worry about losing them or moving them again.

The re-branding is largely an exercise in combining all Google digital offerings. Android Market, Google Music, Google Movies, and the Google Books are all now under the “Google Play” brand. Google has already started pushing the changes on the web, Android phone or tablet, they will upgrading the Android Market app to the Google Play Store app over the coming days. Google Movies, Google books and Google music apps (in countries where they are available) will also be upgraded to Google Play Movies, Google Play Books and Google Play Music apps. The music, movies, books and apps purchased will continue to be available to the users through Google Play—simply log in to your Google account like always. Other than the re-branding and UI refresh, their seems to be nothing significant update to the functionality.
