In an effort to attract more-and-more younger generation to its network, the government owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has added Friends and Family facility along with special voice rate cutter STVs to its popular Student Special plan.
The new Friends and Family (F&F) scheme for BSNL Student Special plan offers reduced voice tariff to any two local numbers. This local number can be a mobile (GSM or CDMA) or a landline of BSNL or other telecom operators.
Students availing the F&F facility can enjoy reduced voice tariff of 10 paise per minute to local BSNL F&F number and 20 paise per minute to local other network F&F number. There will be a charge of Rs 5 on registering and changing of each F&F number.
Special STVs – Voice STV88 & Voice STV42
Along with the addition of F&F scheme, BSNL has also introduced special voice STVs – Voice STV88 and Voice STV42. Both STVs offers reduced voice call tariff of 10 paise per minute to any local and STD BSNL numbers and 30 paise per minute to any local and STD other operators numbers.
As for the validity, voice STV88 comes with a validity of 48 days and the voice STV42 has a validity of 21 days. This special voice STVs got the minute pulse billing.

To activate the special STVs, customer need to send SMS the STV pack name (STV VOICE42) to 123. They will be charged for the STVs from the main account balance.
The new F&F benefits and special rate cutter STVs will be active to pan India Student Special plan users from 20th July 2016.
