Along with its next generation bigger iPhone’s, Apple has also unveiled its first wearable product the iwatch, Apple Watch. It features a square looking face, super hard sapphire glass, metal frames, iOS-based user interface, inductive charging, swappable watch straps and even pure 18-karat rose or yellow gold case and straps.
Apple Watch is a stylish designed wearable with two metal frames and houses touch display. It comes with two variant of retina display sizes – 1.5 inch and 1.65 inch with super hard sapphire glass on top.
Apple Watch is heavily integrated and based on iOS user interface and so you will probably need to have the latest iPhone to use this smart watch. It features a Digital Crown – a dial on the side that offers innovative ways like scroll, zoom and navigation for the Apple Watch. It also serve as the home button and easy way to access voice assistant Siri. Apple Watch can be personalized to your needs with its selection of faces or appearance and capabilities. One can easily change colors, choose design elements, and add functionality.
Apple Watch is powered by a custom-designed chip and houses taptic engine and a built-in speaker that together offers entirely new vocabulary of alerts and notifications that one can hear and feel. It also features Force Touch technology that can sense the difference between a tap and a press. In addition the device also got WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity options.
Apple Watch also includes two health related apps – Activity app that offers a comprehensive picture of your daily activity including calories burned, movements, time spent standing etc with the help of built-in accelerometer and heart rate sensor, along with GPS and Wi-Fi from iPhone. The Workout app provides metrics needed for a dedicated workout sessions. All this combined with the Fitness app on iPhone offers a complete health care bundle.
Coming to the watch straps, the Apple Watch comes in different colorful watch straps made from different type of materials like leather, stainless steel and even 18-karat rose or yellow gold straps.
Apple Watch will come in three different variants – the regular Apple Watch with a polished or space black stainless steel case and a choice of colourful straps, Apple Watch Sport with a space gray or silver anodized aluminum case and sport band and finally the Apple Watch Edition, with an 18-karat rose or yellow gold case and straps.
On the compatibility side the Apple Watch will only works with iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus running the latest version of iOS 8. On the pricing side Apple Watch will start at $349 or roughly Rs 22K and will be available for sale from early in 2015.
