Travelling abroad and getting shocked by the mobile bill. India’s top telecom operator Bharti Airtel has launched Smartpacks for international roaming offering unlimited free incoming calls, extra data benefits, and more perks.

Airtel’s Smartpacks for international roaming offers a much-needed value to customers traveling to international destinations, with the convenience of carrying the same number without having to worry about billing shock.

The Smartpacks provides free unlimited incoming calls from anywhere, free high-speed data benefits and also free voice call minutes to India.

Smart packs are currently available for the popular international destination like United States, United Kingdom, UAE, Thailand and Singapore with a rental validity of 30 days.

Post free benefits customers are charged Rs 10 per minute for local and India voice call back, Rs 1 per MB of data usage, Rs 10 per SMS, Rs 10 per minutes for incoming calls (for UAE) and Rs 39 per minute for international outgoing calls.

Subscribers can activate the Smartpacks through the Airtel website (airtel.in/irpacks), my-Airtel app, USSD (121*99#) or via contacting any Airtel customer contact centres.

Our new international roaming Smart Packs are aimed to address this need gap and set a new industry benchmark.” said Srinivasan Gopalan, director for consumer business at Bharti Airtel.”The advantage of these packs is that customers can activate them at any time and pay only when they actually use them” he added.

Airtel subscribers can also retain their phone number while travelling abroad, otherwise, most people choose new SIM from international telecom providers like Matrix.
