With pressure mounting up from the yet to commercially launched telecom operator Reliance Jio, who is trying to grab those high-paying customers with its Jio 4G preview offer. India’s top telecom operator Airtel has comes up with two new 4G/3G data cutter packs under ‘Mega Saver Pack’ for its pan India prepaid customers.

The Airtel Mega Saver Pack is made especially for its data-savvy customers who can now get 1GB of high-speed 4G or 3G data benefits on a recharge of just Rs 51.

With its mega saver pack, Airtel becomes the first Indian telecom operator to come up with an extended data validity plan. TRAI has earlier allowed telecom operators to offer mobile data packs and STVs with a validity of one year or 365 days.

So what’s big in the data cutter pack? Airtel has launched two Mega Saver Pack that offers great value for data hungry users and they can save more with every subsequent data recharges.

First, comes the Rs 1498 mega saver pack which can cut your 4G or 3G data cost by around 70 percent. The mega saver pack comes with a validity of 12 months and on recharge you will get 1GB of 4G/3G data benefit upfront with a validity of 28 days. After you have used up the data, you can then recharge of Rs 51 to get 1GB of 4G/3G data benefits.

There is no limit on the number of 4G/3G data recharges you can do during the period. So basically you will get 1GB data for Rs 51, 2GB for Rs 102, 10GB for Rs 510 and so on.

There is also a 6 months validity data cutter plan for Rs 748, which comes with the same set of features as above, but with less data saving. Using this pack, you can get 1GB of 4G/3G data benefits for a Rs 99. Here also there is no limit on the number of recharges you can do during the period.

One can recharge the Mega Saver Packs through the myAirtel app, Airtel website or any third party retailer.

It seems with Reliance Jio commercial launch the data usage charges will considerably go down. Telecom operators will surely go for a data war in the coming months, just like when 3G was first launched.
